A FRENCH-BRAID PONY
If your hair is too creased from being in a pony all day to leave it down, try this easy updo. Start by French-braiding your hair two inches back from your hairline to the midway point of the back of your head, and then secure your hair into a ponytail with a clear elastic. "If your hair is fine, gain more control-pre braid by applying a pea-size amount of TRESemmé Perfectly (un)Done Wave Perfecting Gelee to the top section of your hair," John D. says. Then, tease your pony with a comb (or create a few curls if you have an iron) and get light definition and shine on the ends with TRESemmé Keratin Smooth Illuminating Shine Mist.
THE NEW WAVE
"In the a.m., put your hair back into a bun when your hair is damp so that when you let it out at the end of the day, you have naturally have imperfect waves," John D. says. If you have a mini flat iron stashed in your desk drawer, "wrap sections of face-framing pieces — or those that need a bit more definition — two to three times (depending on your hair's length) around a flat iron that's open, not clamped. Then, flip the iron back and forth, starting from midway on [the] strands to create the cool-girl bends." Finish with TRESemmé Make Waves Shine Enhancing Cream just on the ends, he says.
